Grand Army of the Frontier

US Army Enlisted Uniform Resource Links

1867-1902

Grading of the suppliers listed here is based solely on the personal judgment of Doug Strong. No insult is intended, nor does it reflect the opinions of the Grand Army of the Frontier as an organization.

Grade description:

A+      This is a museum grade replica of the item that is exactly correct in every detail.

A        Highly authentic reconstruction with all features correct.

B        Very good representation of in the proper style and possessing many of the authentic details.

C        Entry level items that passes the 10 foot rule with ease which is correct in overall outline and style.

D        Poor attempt at representing the item but it would do if there was no other option.

F        A failed attempt at creating the item in question.

Suppliers noted at the top of each list are those recommended by the General Miles Marching and Chowder Society and would each receive a grade of A or A+. Many of these suppliers are no longer in business. For contact information for these suppliers click on this link. My list is based on that list but updated for 2013.

Where possible I have illustrated this site with original drawings or photographs from the Quartermaster regulations and specifications.
