Maximilian Buckle: A highly decorative brass buckle from a suit of Maximilian armour. German, Circa 1520. It was cast from an original in our private collection. Fits a 3/4 inch strap. $5.00 in brass (Replica Collection)

 

Eared Buckle: A small brass buckle found on the foreshore of the Thames river in London. A similar buckle may be seen on the brass of Robert de Bures. English, 14th century. According to Dress Accessories this type of buckle had the greatest period of longevity of any in the medieval period. The earliest examples were being thrown away as early as 1150 and as late as 1400. They are called "ornate outside edge" buckles, and frequently have projections, lobes, ridges or ears. Lobed Buckle: A small replica of a brass buckle found in Dorset. According to Dress Accessories this type of buckle had the greatest period of longevity of any in the medieval period. The earliest examples were being thrown away as early as 1150 and as late as 1400. They are called "ornate outside edge" buckles, and frequently have projections, lobes, ridges or ears. Foliate Buckle: This foliate covered brass buckle fits a 3/4" wide strap. It dates to the 12th or 13th century, though holdouts of this form continued into the 14th. The tongue is not pictured. It was cast from an original in our private collection.  $6.00 in brass (Replica Collection)

Viking Jelinge Strap End: This piece was cast from an original Viking stirrup mount found in Yorkshire, England that was formerly in our private collection. The interlaced knot work dragon decoration is molded in high relief. This strap end is a nice match for the Large Brass Viking Buckle and is perfect for belts ranging from 1 1/4" to 2" wide. $15.00 in Brass.

 

Viking/Saxon Plate Buckle: This decorated brass buckle fits a 1/2" wide strap. It has an integral plate  and can be affixed to a strap with rivets.
