Pewter Coin Badge based on a Burgundian Rider.

Item #1455

Date:  1450 - 1500

Found in Holland. Coin badges were commonly worn for good luck. It is broadly similar to #2236 in Van Beuningen's Heilig en Profaan, Volume 2. This badge shows evidence of being nailed to another object. Many surviving badges appear to have been nailed to walls in homes.
