The fact that Thomas wa born in England and Johanna was born in New Jersey and both died in Ontario after the Revolutionary War may indicate that they were loyalists. It was very common for loyalists to immigrate to Canada after the British defeat in the war. Their son fought on the American side in the Revolution so this may simply be a coincidence.
