Joseph Stebbins: Born 24 October 1652, Springfield, Hampden, MA; Died 15 October 1728, Springfield, Hampden, MA; Married 27 November 1673, Springfield, Hampden, MA; Sarah Dorchester: Born 16 October 1652, Springfield, Hampden, MA; Died 18 August 1746, Springfield, Hampden, MA. He was the second child of Thomas and Hannah. The first died in infancy and also bore the name Joseph. Joseph first took the Oath of Fidelity in 1678. He was made a freeman in 1681.

Martha was the widow of Samuel Kitcherell. His first residence in America seems to have been Windsor CT. He took the Oath of Allegiance on 31 December 1678. He seems to have had a total of four different wives.

Lieutenant Thomas Stebbins: Born 1619/1620, of Bocking, Essex, England; Died 15 September 1683, Springfield, Hampden, MA; Married 16 November 1645, Springfield, Hampden, MA; Hannah Wright: Born August 1626, Springfield, Hampden, MA; Died 16 October 1660, Springfield, Hampden, MA. He was a Lieutenant.

Thomas' Father--

4. Rowland Stebbins: Born 5 November 1592, of Ipswich, Suffolk, England; Died 14 December 1671, Northampton, Hampshire, MA; Married 30 November 1618, England; Sarah Whiting: Born 1590/1591, England; Died 4 October 1649, Springfield, MA. Rowland came to America on the Francis. This ship sailed in the end of April, 1634 from Ipswich. The ship landed at Boston in the same year. Rowland and Sarah had four children: Thomas, their oldest, Sarah, John and Elizabeth. His memoirs are said to be preserved though I have no way of finding them at this time. He first settled in Roxbury, MA though he quickly went with Pincheon, who was the founder of Springfield, MA and settled there. After the death of his wife he moved to Northampton, MA. Two church records of Rowland survive. They both come from the Register of St. Mary's Church, Bocking, Essex, England: "Baptism of Rolandus Stebbing filius Thomas, Nov. 5. 1593/4." and "Marriage of Rolandus Stebbing and Sarah Whiting, Nov. 30 1618."

• I. John Whiting, Mayor of Boston, England: Born 1565, of Boston, Lincolnshire, England; Died 1647; Married 1590, England; Sarah Smith: Born 1569, Of Bocking, Essex, England. John was a member of the common council and made election bailiff in 1590. He was mayor from 1600 to 1608. John and Sarah had at least one other child, in addition to Sarah. His son was the Reverend Samuel Whiting, who married into a very ancient and prestigious family.
