Waitstill Strong: Born 1677, Northampton, Hampshire, MA; Died 13 November 1762, Northampton, Hampshire, MA; Married 7 March 1708, Northampton, Hampshire, MA; Mindwell Bartlett: Born 1681, Northampton, Hampshire, MA; Died 26 June 1741, Northampton, Northampton, MA.  (See Bartlett) Mindwell was his second wife. His first wife was Sarah Janes. Waitstill was a farmer at Northampton and a large landowner. He is recorded as having sold his 300 acres at Cold Spring (Belchertown) in 1727/8, for £48. (= 3 1/6 shillings per acre.) Waitstill and Mindwell had seven children: Phebe Strong Married John Wright; Benajah Strong Married Mabel Bartlett; John Strong; Mindwell Strong Married Samuel Clapp Jr.; Submit Strong Clapp; Eleazer (Twin) Strong and Ithamar (Twin) Strong Married Experience King.

Thomas Strong: Born 26 October 1633, of Northampton, Hampshire, MA; Died 3 October 1689, Northampton, Hampshire, MA; Married 10 October 1671, Northampton, Hampshire, MA; Rachel Holton: Born about 1645, of Northampton, Hampshire, MA; Died 1714, Madison?, CT. Thomas was a Trooper in 1658, at Windsor Ct. under the command of Major Mason. His first wife was Mary, daughter of Reverend Ephriam Hewett. She died in 20 Feb, 1690, and he remarried the next October. Rachel was his second wife. Thomas took the Oath of Allegiance on 8 February 1679, with his father, his son and three brothers. Thomas was a farmer. By the will of Thomas Strong his eldest son Thomas Jr. had "Half the house and homestead forever; hoping he will come and live there and so be a help to his mother-in-law." The mother had "the whole of the rest of the estate for five years to bring up the children; then the estate to be divided according to law, Thomas to have a double portion--he to pay if half of the whole is too much." At the time of his death Thomas had nine children under the age of 15 years. These children all moved to Southern Connecticut when his wife, Rachel, re-married to Nathan Bradley. All but one of his children were alive at the time of his death and one more of his children was born after his demise. Thomas and Rachel had eleven children together: Justice Joseph Strong Married Sarah Allen; Benjamin Strong; Adino Strong Married Eunice; Waitstill Strong Married Mindwell Bartlett; Rachel Strong Married Miles Dudley; Selah Strong Married Abigail Terry; Benajah Strong Married Sarah Sherman; Ephraim Strong Married Mary Buckingham; Elnathan Strong Married Patience Jenner; Ruth Strong Married William Dudley; and Submit Strong Married Mary Hewitt.

4. Deacon William Holton: Born 28 April 1610, Ipswich, Suffolk, England; Died 12 August 1691, Northampton, Hampshire, MA; Married 1638, Northampton, Hampshire, MA; Mary Winche: Born 1612, of Hartford, Hartford, CT.; Died 16 November 1691, Northampton, Hampshire, MA. William was one of the first settlers of Hartford Ct., and one of the original eight petitioners for liberty to plant and settle at Nonotuck (Northampton), where he went in 1653. When the first board of magistrates was appointed in 1665 by the General Court, it consisted of William Holton, Thomas Bascom, and Edward Elmore. He was the first Deacon of the Church of Northampton. He was ordained on 13 June 1663. He was a representative to the General Court from 1667 to 1669. He was about eighty years of age when he died. William and Mary had at least four daughters: Rachel Holton who married Thomas Strong, Sarah Holton who married Captain John King, Mary Holton who married Thomas Hastings, and Ruth Holton who married Joseph Baker, then Thomas Lyman.

5. Thomas Houlton: Born 27 May 1568, Holton St Marys?, Sussex, England; Married Mary Winche: Born about 1586. This Mary Winche was probably related to her son's wife.
